We also worked with another professional contractor for the flooring and glass door. The flooring is made of rectangular tiles that complement the color of the Oak wine racks. The large glass door and glass wall provide a clear view of the client’s beautiful wine collection from the outside.  

Wine Cellar Cooling System 

Blue Grouse Wine Cellars is composed of HVAC technicians who understand that installing the correct climate control system will ensure that the ideal wine storage environment is created.   

Their team calculated the heat load to determine the correct size of the wine cooling unit for this traditional home wine cellar in Vancouver. They installed WhispeKOOL’s Ceiling Mount 8000 wine refrigeration system in the ceiling above the wine racks on the back wall. No equipment is installed within the racking or mounted in the wall.  

The evaporator is hidden in a wooden grill cover that can be removed for easy maintenance and cleaning. Since the condenser was placed outdoors, the wine cooling system offers a quiet operation.   

The copper refrigerant line set, which connects the evaporator and condenser, was installed before the drywall was completed. The remote display controller and the light switches can be found on the wall to the right of the glass door.
